This photograph is from May 17th, 2021 and was captured somewhere near Phoenix, AZ. It’s a photograph of four hot air balloons landing on the ground, photographed from another hot air balloon up above them.
I took a solo trip to Phoenix and—among kayaking, mountain biking, touring a botanical garden, and ripping through the desert in a zippy rental car—I had a great time on a sunrise hot air balloon tour.
The balloon operator (and everyone else lol) noticed all the camera gear I brought onboard. They kept us inflated longer than any of the other balloons and I was able to get this shot. I rented a specialty, 16mm-fish-eye lens especially for the occasion.
